Nonprofit Nexus focuses on the legal and fiscal health of our Jewish community’s nonprofit and religious organizations

It has been providing communal organizations with legal and fiscal information, advice, advocacy and assistance since 1986.

Nonprofit Nexus works with the NY Attorney General's Office, Charities Bureau to

• Protect our communal assets
• Ensure and assist organizations in complying with NYS laws

There are two programs

• Fiscal & Governance Matters (F & G Matters)
• Legal Assistance for Jewish Organizations (LAJO)

F & G Matters seeks to ensure that New York communal organizations get

• Information on laws affecting them through seminars and written materials
• Advice or referrals on operational and fiscal matters from its staff

LAJO assists Jewish organizations with

• Legal issues regarding their corporate existence and operations
• Federal, state and local tax exempt matters
• Litigation involving actions taken by them consonant with their mission
