In January of 2020 the first cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in the USA. Between March 14, 2020 and January 10, 2021 New York has experienced 1,135,849 cases and 39,208 deaths due to COVID-19. With the global pandemic and resulting economic impacts and amplification of underlying social inequalities, 2021 begins. New York’s Jewish community continues to focus and support policies and programs that address poverty and bring stability to vulnerable populations.
